One thing is certain, two things are for sure... pain is real, and pain affects everyone. It doesn't matter whether you are young or old. Rich or poor. Wealthy or in poverty. College degree holder or high school dropout. When you encounter pain, or when pain comes close to you, you know it, and it demands to be acknowledged. It screams to be recognized and not ignored. Just ask any woman who has gone through the process of giving birth. There is a difference between early and premature contractions, and between the contractions and pain that signal the beginning of the transition for what she has been carrying. Also, pain is an indicator, not the problem. If we don't have a proper understanding of what's going on in us, through us, and around us, we may miss vital turning points or tipping points at which action is required of us. The results can be tragic, if not devastating.
Every individual alive must summon emotional courage to confront life's challenges and actively engage in the process of living with or working to alleviate their pain. This kind of courage empowers us to acknowledge our struggles, persevere through difficult moments, and take meaningful steps toward healing and wholeness.

Having courage does not mean that difficulty or fear is not present, nor does it mean that the challenges and pain being faced are not real. But courage is the only down payment to secure the opening to the healing process. Jesus paid for your healing. He made it possible for you and me to experience the abundant life. If you believe that you lack the courage that's needed to start, ask Him for it. Study and look at the example that He left. Ask a strong family member, friend, or mentor for assistance and accountability. Cry when you need to. Laugh when you can. Pause when it seems to get too hard. Stop and dance when you feel overwhelmed or lost. When you need to scream or shout, make a paper airplane and fly it around the room. When your strength seems too low, take a quick walk or watch something funny. The message that I'm sending you right now is simple: it's going to get better once we decide to get moving. You and I are going to conquer this pain, and life will improve. Our best days are ahead of us, and our future is bright. I'll loan you my wisdom and strategies if you'll have the courage to turn the page and start the journey.
