Knowing that guitar players would be using this with acoustic that have Piezo pickups that are naturally already very bright and the acoustic amplifiers or the PAs acoustic guitar players will be plugging their guitars into typically have horns. Making another typical overdrive would result in the same harsh unpleasing outcome. So right out of the gate Fender put a circuit in the Solder Acoustic OD that takes a Piezo pick-up and reshapes it to sound like a magnetic pick-up. There is also a tone stack in it from a channel of a Deluxe Reverb so you get treble and bass controls.</p>The Blend Feature<p>The Blend Control is probably the secret weapon of this pedal. You can set this so that you step on the pedal and add distortion on at key points of songs with the blend higher and distortion set at a fair amount.
